Create Event Log Entries

Hello,

Thank you for a wonderful utility. It has proved very useful.

I was wondering if you had given any thought to including functionality that will write to a Windows Event Log if the application fails for any reason. I ask this because with Windows Server 2008, one can create Event Log Tasks which monitor the event logs for user defined events and then perform a specified action when those events occur. If ExpressMaint was to log an error to the event log, the Event Log Tasks could be leveraged to send an email or perform some other action. This would be very beneficial to those that use ExpressMaint in Scheduled Tasks for routine backups.

Your thoughts?

It is on the list :-) I'm doing a rewrite at the moment to remove the SMO dependency as it's not really necessary for the limited tasks the utility performs plus I have to hack round various bugs in it anyway so will be including event log entries as well as email notifications in vNext.
